WSOHOIDPS (A SHIP IN THE WOODS) nonprofit art and culture incubator is hosting its first annual music and art festival at beautiful Felicita County Park in Escondido, California, from Saturday, June 16 to Sunday, June 17, open to all ages. The festival will be a continuation of the nonprofit’s past programming, merging world-class talent with local San Diego artists.

The inaugural 2018 festival will present immersive, interactive, interdisciplinary art from local and national artists including: Chris Warren, Jeremy Zierau, The League of Imaginary Scientists, Johanna Jackson, Ingram Ober, Kyle Ranson, Shaun O’Dell, Lucy Solomon, Cindy Santos Bravo, and Southwestern Experimental Contemporary Art Class, with more to be announced. Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in supporter-generated ecological solutions and discussions with our partners: San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy and Dr. Gabriel Miller, a San Diego Zoo Global Senior Scientist.

Guests will find a wide variety of local food vendors, breweries, and craft and retail tables, including those of sponsors Green Flash, Guayaki Yerba Matte, Casanova Fish Tacos, Island Life Foods, Vinyl Junkies, and Medi Pops, with more to be announced.

A SHIP IN THE WOODS is partnering with several philanthropic organizations in the San Diego community to realize this event. High Tech High will be mentoring students who will learn organizational, leadership, and hands-on building skills. The San Diego Food bank will run a food drive throughout the festival to benefit their Food 4 Kids Backpack Program, which provides weekend supplies of food for children at risk of going hungry in the absence of school lunches. The San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy will also be on site to offer educational information about the San Dieguito Watershed. Along with these nonprofit organizations, A SHIP IN THE WOODS is collaborating with Art Reach and many other local supporters of the arts.
