Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested in Vista

On November 18, 2018 at approximately 7:49 PM, 55 year old Juventino Vazquez was involved in an argument with his wife and his daughter inside their residence located in the 1000 block of Corvalla Dr., in the city of Vista. During the argument, Juventino retrieved a knife from a closet. A struggle ensued between all three family members over the knife. During the struggle, Juventino stabbed his wife and daughter multiple times. Juventino fled the area on foot and was not located. The wife and daughter were transported to local hospitals to be treated for their injuries, which were not considered life threatening.
On November 19, 2018, while assisting deputies, ASTREA broadcasted Juventino’s description over their Public Address system. At approximately 1:14 PM, deputies responded to the 900 block of Barsby Street after citizens called the Sheriff’s Department to report seeing a suspicious person lying in a bush matching the description that ASTREA broadcasted earlier. Juventino was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility for 664/187(a) PC Attempted Murder, 245 (a) (1) PC Assault with a deadly weapon, and 273.6 (b) Violating a domestic violence restraining order with injuries.
