Classical Academy Wood-Shop Students Make “Signs of Hope”

Classical Academy High School wood-shop students delivered hand-made “signs of hope” to residents of the Mountain Shadows Residential Home. Students created hand carved signs with inspirational messages in hopes of encouraging Mountain Shadows residents. Wood-shop teacher Morgan Lundy said “My students take imperfect, discarded wood pallets and hand sand them into something beautiful and useful to encourage someone else.”

Mountain Shadows Residential Home is an intermediate care facility for developmentally disabled adults. It fosters a family environment that encourages the growth and independence of all residents. Students spent the afternoon visiting with residents and installing the new signs in their homes. For more information about Mountain Shadows Residential Home visit
