Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Carlsbad

CARLSBAD, Calif. — On October 14, 2018 at 16:35 p.m., Officers from the Carlsbad Police Department responded to the 4600 block of Carlsbad Boulevard regarding a report of a motorcyclist seriously injured after colliding with a Toyota Tundra. Upon arrival, Officers found a motorcycle with severe damage lying in the roadway on Carlsbad Blvd and a Toyota Tundra also with extensive damage. The motorcyclist had suffered serious injuries due to the collision and was pronounced deceased while being transported by the Fire Department to a local area hospital.

The motorcyclist pronounced deceased was identified as a 19 year-old male from San Marcos. The driver of the Tundra was identified as a 38 year-old male from Grand Terrace.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing. Investigators are requesting anyone that witnessed the collision to call Carlsbad Police Department Accident Investigator, Corporal Travis Andersonat 760-931-2208.

Northbound Carlsbad Blvd. at Cannon Rd. has been closed during the investigation, but is expected to be open within 30 minutes.
