Good Life Lectures Launch at Cole Library in May

Learn how to live your best life as health and wellness experts share tips, tools and insight on how to improve your quality of life. Lectures in the month of May, with the exception of May 14, will be held at Georgina Cole Library’s Community Room, 1250 Carlsbad Village Drive. The May 14 lecture will be held at Carlsbad City Library’s Schulman Auditorium, 1775 Dove Lane. Admission is free; seating is first come, first served. For more information, call 760-602-2055.

May 7: The Gift of Age (Richard Lederer)

Union-Tribune language columnist and library favorite Richard Lederer will share wit and wisdom as well as information and inspiration about the incredible journey to maturity. Dr. Lederer has written 50 books about language, history and humor.

May 14: Nutritional Secrets to Prevent Alzheimer’s and Sharpen Your Memory (Angela Vittucci)

This lecture returns by popular demand! Learn about practical diet tips, supplements, lifestyle changes and brain boosters that will improve how you think, feel and respond. Angela R. Vittucci is an Integrative Functional Medicine Nutritionist R.D.N.

May 21: Stress Less! (Rose Thomas)
Georgina Cole Library Community Room, 1250 Carlsbad Village Drive

We will discuss the impact of stress and key nutrients you can use to support your body, mind and spirit. We will use acupressure, breathing techniques and aromatherapy. Rose is a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist and nutritional counselor who has been lecturing on health and nutrition for more than 20 years.

May 28: Avoid the Annoyances of Aging (Philip J. Goscienski, M.D.)

Growing older is inevitable, but many of the challenges that seniors face are not. Learn how to postpone or even avoid many annoyances of aging such as decreased energy, irregular sleep and poor memory. Philip J. Goscienski, M.D., one of the most popular Good Life series speakers, has a 47-year career in clinical and academic medicine.
