COURSE REPORT: The No. 19 Cal State San Marcos women’s golf team made history on Tuesday, winning the team title with a program-low 7-under 569 for 36 holes while junior Jaime Jacob shot a career-low 66 in the final round to win her first individual medalist honor this season.

FIRST TEE •Jacob carded six birdies and no bogeys to turn a career-best and program-record 9-under 135 to capture the individual tournament championship.
•Senior Bergen Benedict posted an even par 72 to go along with yesterday’s career-low 69 to take runner-up honors with a 3-under 141.
•Playing as an individual, junior Savannah Magallon matched her opening round of 1-under 71 to take third at 2-under 142.
•Senior Sarah Garcia shot an even-par 72 on both days to place fifth with a 144.
•Freshman Breann Horn also recorded back-to-back scores at 75 to place in the top 10, tying for ninth with a 6-over 150.
•Sophomore Claire Hogle improved on opening round by five strokes to finished tied for 14th with a 9-over 153.
•Also playing as individuals, junior Emily Lichty (157) tied for 28th while senior Joan Park (164) placed 40th.

INSIDE THE SCORECARD •CSUSM topped yesterday’s record round of 3-under 285 with a 4-under 284 in the final round.
•The Cougars also knocked off the 36-hole school record of 575 by six strokes set earlier this fall at the Western New Mexico Fall Intercollegiate.
•Jacob is the CSUSM record holder for lowest 36-hole round with her 9-under 135.
• CSUSM notched 38 birdies with Jacob and Benedict contributing a tournament-best 10 each.
•As a team, the Cougars defeated second place Simon Fraser by 34 shots.
