Swami’s Café is opening a location in the former downtown El Callejon restaurant site.
The café is a popular San Diego County restaurant chain and provides lunch and breakfast.
Swami’s is adding dinner to the menu in its Vista Village site.
The café is set to open within the next four to six months.
“This is great news,” said Kevin Ham, Vista’s Director of Economic Development. “Vista Village, with its prime location off state Route 78, is one of the city’s most high-profile eating and entertainment complexes. I think Swami’s food offerings are something that the community will appreciate and enjoy.”
Dining options are increasing in the city of Vista. Raising Cane’s is coming to the former Famous Dave’s property in Vista Village in the fall; 508 Tavern on S. Santa Fe Avenue recently opened; Leucadia Pizzeria opened in the Marriott Towne Place Shopping Center; Dog Haus, a gourmet hotdog restaurant is opening downtown on the corner of Broadway and S. Indiana; and in August, the Wildwood Grill is opening a barbecue restaurant and music venue in the former La Paloma space near E. Vista Way & Civic Center Drive; Poke Poke recently opened in the former Subway site in Vista Village and other restaurants, including When Pigs Fly and Panda Wok are coming soon.
