Veteran television producer and comedy writer, Linwood Boomer, best known for his work on the hit sitcom Malcolm in the Middle is the major contributor and founder of Healing California, a nonprofit organization that provides FREE medical, dental and vision services to veteran, homeless individuals and those who are medically indigent across the State of California.
On February 8th and 9th, Linwood’s team at Healing California will join the North County Stand Down to provide vision services FREE of charge to anyone who needs it!
Stand Downs are one to three day events offered – throughout the year in cities all across the country – to provide services to homeless veterans such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings, VA and Social Security benefits counseling, and referrals to a variety of other necessary services, such as housing, employment and substance abuse treatment. Stand Downs are collaborative events, coordinated between local VAs, other government agencies, and community agencies who serve the homeless.
“Healing California is committed to working alongside our partners and providing the best medical, dental and vision services possible to all who need it. We have booked eleven clinics so far and I am optimistic that the presence of Healing California will be seen at many more stand down events throughout 2019 and beyond.” Deborah Sewell, Executive Director
Healing California will join the North County Veterans “Stand Down” at their event which will be held at Green Oak Ranch in Vista, California on Friday, February 8th and Saturday, February 9th, 2019 from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. Healing California has the capacity to serve 150 vision patients each day, and will provide FREE eye exams as well as fill up to 300 prescriptions for eyeglass on the same day of the event.
