What do you do when it’s time to give? You bring the non-profit community together and celebrate successes and stories!
The Woman’s Club of Vista GFWC recently awarded $12,400 to 23 local non-profit organizations to support their work in the community. Helping shelter and feed homeless families, providing clothes for babies, funding discounts for historical and nature field trips, filling packages for military service members, supporting camperships for autistic and burn victims, and many more – an eclectic group of recipients joined the Woman’s Club of Vista for lunch and to share the stories of their work in the community.

Donations were awarded to: Alta Vista Botanical Gardens, AVBG Children’s Garden, Angel Faces, Autism Society, Bread of Life Rescue Mission, Brother Benno Foundation, Casa de Amparo, City of Vista Fire Department, Gently Hugged, LYFF, Meals with Love, North County Lifeline: Project LIFE, Operation America Cares, Operation HOPE North County, Pride of Vista Lions, Pride of Vista Scholarship Pageants, Rancho Buena Vista Adobe, Route 78 Civitan, Vista Art Foundation, San Diego Center for the Blind/Vista, Vista Community Clinic, Vista Historical Society, and Women’s Resource Center.

In addition to these annual donations, Woman’s Club of Vista members volunteer by giving their time, their hearts, and their personal support to these organizations. In 2018, club members gave 10,700 hours of volunteer time to these organizations and other non-profits in the community.
On June 12, the club’s members will celebrate with scholarship recipients from six local high schools by sharing lunch and hearing their stories. Students will share their experiences, goals for the future, and their next steps in their educational journeys. All are welcome!

The members of The Woman’s Club of Vista GFWC believe in and are accomplishing their Mission: Enriching lives through philanthropy and volunteer service.
