SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men’s and women’s track & field teams will participate in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships this week in Turlock. The CSUSM baseball team wraps up its 2018 season with a four-game split-venue series with UC San Diego this week.

MOVING ON UP, IN THE CSUSM RECORD BOOKS •Lea Ortiz – Broke into the top 10 at No. 6 in the Long Jump with a mark of 5.16 meters.
•Sarah Montion – Catapulted to No. 2 in Discus with a throw of 40.96 meters.
•Arianna Garcia-Swantek – Broke into the top 10 at No. 9 in the 800 meters with a time of 2:15.23.

UC SAN DIEGO •CSUSM is 3-7 all-time against the Tritons.
•Last season, the Cougars were swept by UCSD by scores of 8-0, 5-3, 11-9 and 9-6.
•UCSD is second in the CCAA standings and has already clinched a spot in the CCAA Championships.
•As a team, the Tritons rank second in the CCAA in hitting (.304 avg.) and fourth in pitching (4.27 ERA).

CSUSM BREAKDOWN •The Cougars took one of four games away from Cal State San Bernardino, a 22-12 victory in the first game of Sunday’s twinbill.
•In the series, CSUSM hit 12 doubles, six home runs and one triple.
•Junior Austin Ott hit .556 (10-for-18) with a home run and a double while senior Aidan Stinnett went 9-for-20 (.450) with two home runs and a double.
•As a team, CSUSM ranks fifth in batting (.290) and tenth in pitching (6.19 ERA) in the CCAA.
