Vista Fire Celebrates 90 Years of Service
On behalf of the Vista Fire Department, Fire Chief Jeff Hahn accepted a Proclamation from Mayor Ritter during the Vista City Council meeting on September 12. The proclamation recognizes 2017 as the 90th Anniversary of the Vista Fire Department and the 40th Anniversary of the Vista Paramedic program.

The Vista Fire Department provides fire protection services to over 36.5 square miles to a population of over 115,000 in the city of Vista and the Vista Fire District

The department is a full service fire and has grown from a few firefighters to a highly skilled unit of 86 professional men and women.

In 2010, the Vista Fire Department became the first Accredited Agency in San Diego County through the Commission of Fire Accreditation International, and remains the only accredited civilian fire department in the County. The Department was awarded accreditation status again in March, 2016.
