Rancho Buena Vista and Vista HS student supporters of SB-54, California Values Act, organized and rallied together today, September 23, 2018, to hold a rally on the front steps of the Vista Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Drive, Vista.
Over fifty high school students and Vista adult residents demonstrated to encourage the citizens of Vista to support SB-54, a law passed by the California State Legislature and signed by Governor Jerry Brown on September 1, 2018. The Vista City Council voted to not support SB-54 because they agreed with the Federal Law pertaining to immigration. Supporters of the Federal Immigration law were located on the Southwest corner of Eucalyptus, with an American Flag and banners. Motorists honked when passing by in support of both sides. Nearly a dozen speakers were scheduled and it was a peaceful gathering of Vista residents.
