On September 22, 2017, the Pregnancy Resource Center, located at 1830 Hacienda Dr., Ste. 8, in Vista, California held an Open House. The purpose was to raise public awareness of the resources they provide to the public. Tours were given of the Resource Center and the Mobile Pregnancy Unit as people arrived. The friendly staff greeted everyone and light refreshments were available to enjoy as you toured the facility. Most of all, to offer information to everyone how they would like to help each person that walks through their doors.
The Pregnancy Resource Center exists to help women facing an unplanned pregnancy. Started in 1998 by a group who saw the need for a resource in North San Diego that would be available to women and families regardless of age, race, or financial status, who were facing various, and often crisis pregnancy situations. In 2002 PRC became a licensed medical facility and began offering free ultrasounds.
In 2008 Pregnancy Resource Center became the first pregnancy medical clinic in California to purchase and retrofit a mobile RV that enabled the organization to provide pregnancy tests and ultrasound in the community where transportation is often a problem.

All of the programs offered through Pregnancy Resource Center are free to the clients they serve. The programs include
STD Education/Teen Pregnancy Prevention
The heart of PRC is to come alongside a woman right where she is at, without judgment or agenda but to treat her with love, dignity, and respect. The goal is to empower her with knowledge so that she is making decisions based on fact.
The Earn While You Learn program educates parents so they can learn to be GREAT parents. Parents can begin the program as soon as they find out they are pregnant and stay until their child is three years old. Parents learn everything from prenatal care, labor and delivery, all the way to appropriate toddler discipline. Fathers are also encouraged to attend the classes. Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace is available, so parents learn to budget their money well.
The ImWaiting program teaches STD Education/Teen Pregnancy prevention in all four North San Diego school districts reaching approximately 2500 students in a year. The program covers the emotional, physical, and relational aspects of sexual activity.
The program is not designed to pass judgment on students, but merely empower them to look at the choices they make and the long-term consequences of those decisions.
Building Family Connections comes alongside parents and gives them tools to start and continue the conversation with their children about sex, dating, and what are healthy relationships.
The Pregnancy Resource Center as a non-profit has no negative financial impact on the Tri-City area that they serve.
