The City of Carlsbad’s Library & Cultural Arts Department is seeking artists to exhibit for two months at a time during 2020 at the Carlsbad city libraries. The call is open to all artists.
“We display works of artists in our libraries to capture their vision and share their talents,” said Curator of Exhibitions Karen McGuire. “This artwork enlivens the library and embodies the artist’s vivid imagination. We hope to inspire our community to explore their own artistic talents and encourage them to seek out and enjoy greater interaction with art and local artists.”
At a Glance
The selected artist will create a wall and/or display case exhibit.
There are two exhibition locations: Dove Library and Georgina Cole Library.
Artists must submit five to 10 photographs of their work, a list of proposed artworks including titles and dimensions and a brief biography, including contact information. Additional details and requirements are available online.
Selected artists will be notified about exhibition dates and locations by December 15, 2019. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
