The Escondido native punched her ticket to the national race after receiving an at-large bid with a 12th-place finish on Saturday at the NCAA West Regional Championships in Billings, Montana. Running in cold temperatures on a snow-covered course, Flora completed the 6K race in 21:35.71 to lead the Cougars to a ninth-place finish.

In CSUSM’s first year of being NCAA Division II postseason eligible, the Cougars took eighth in the 2017 NCAA Division II Women’s Cross Country Championships. Flora was CSUSM’s second runner to cross the line, finishing in 50th place with a time of 21:54.1. All-American Natalie Rodriguez took third with a time of 20:32.3.
