Escondido, Ca. – January 23, 2019 — The Center Museum will be hosting a gallery talk and photography lecture at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido on Sunday, February 10th starting at 2pm in the Center museum.

Exhibiting artist, Wendy Maruyama, discusses the artwork in Executive Order 9066 with a walking tour of the exhibition that analyzes the internment camps with a contemporary eye.

Following the tour, there will be a lecture on the photography of Japanese internment camps by UCSD professor, Ruth Wallen.

The lecture is in conjunction with our newest exhibition, Manzanar: The Wartime Photographs of Ansel Adams which give an intimate look through the lens of celebrated photographer, Ansel Adams, at the daily life in Manzanar, one of the ten Japanese-American incarceration camps in the U.S. during World War II.

Admission to the lecture is $5.00 for members of the California Center for the Arts, Escondido and $10.00 for non-members and includes entrance into the Center Museum to view the exhibitions before or after the lecture.
