Family and friends from near and far gathered at Vista’s Elks club on Friday, June 21st to celebrate with Patty Furtado on her 100th birthday. Patty Furtado was born on June 21, 1919, in Des Moines, Iowa. Patty and her family moved to California when she was three years old. Patty went on to graduate from Hollywood High School in Los Angeles, California. The family moved to Vista in 1974.
During World War II Patty worked at Hughes Aircraft. She had three beautiful children, Ralph, Suzie and Michael, and is the proud grandparent of six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Patty celebrated today along with her family and guests from Texas, Florida, Oregon, Illinois and Hawaii.
On behalf of Mayor Judy Ritter, Councilmember Joe Green attended to celebrate this milestone which was certainly something to celebrate. The City of Vista is proud to call her one of ours.
