Human Trafficking Awareness Walk This Saturday, January 12,


VISTA, California, December 16, 2018—Soroptimist International of Vista and North County Inland invites citizens in North County San Diego to attend our 13th Annual Human Trafficking Awareness Walk on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Vista. Club members and interested citizens will gather at 12:30 pm at Vista’s Wave Waterpark entrance (located at 101 Wave Drive in Vista), to register, hear guest speakers San Diego District Attorney Summer Stephan, Joseph Travers of Saved in America, and Jaimee Johnson of Sisters of the Street, and be led on a 1-mile walk from the Waterpark, through downtown Vista and back to the Waterpark entrance.

STOP Trafficking signs will be supplied, or participants can bring their own. A $10 donation is requested but not required. There will be information tables at the Wave Waterpark for attendees to find out more about how to help recognize and fight this form of modern day slavery. Families and pets are welcome. Soroptimist International of Vista and North County Inland (SI Vista/NCI) was chartered on March 23, 1953. We are a dynamic group of professional business women primarily from Vista, San Marcos and Escondido who seek to make a difference in our community through offering scholarships and grants to local charities and by raising awareness and educating the public about issues affecting women and girls, such as domestic violence and human trafficking.
