SAN DIEGO (KUSI)- SANDAG’s recent moves have attracted major controversy from people all over San Diego County, but specifically in North County.

Last month, Supervisor Kristin Gaspar was in the KUSI News studio explaining her concern with important SANDAG meetings being changed at the last minute.

Supervisor Gaspar now says SANDAG wouldn’t give her an answer for the meeting changes. Gaspar says the SANDAG Executive Direcor Hasan Ihkrata is counting votes and making sure that he has “the right people” attending their important meetings.

She noted that just last week, Ihkrata signed a huge MOU with the US Navy on the SPAWAR building and plans for a San Diego, “Grand Central Station.” Gaspar then emphasized that she is a SANDAG board member and found out about this agreement while watching the news.

County Supervisor Kristin Gaspar and San Marcos Mayor Rebecca Jones stopped by Good Morning San Diego to detail their frustration with the way Ihkrata is running SANDAG and why they are looking in to ways to get rid of the entire organization.
